Rent-a- Grannie? In Japan, one of the most popular client services you can buy is called “OK Grandma.” Through this unique service, people can “rent” a woman between the ages of 60 and 94 for 3,300 yen per hour. Some of the grannies cook for their clients, or fill out their family’s side of a wedding, while others babysit or employ their beautiful handwriting skills. One client used her grannie as emotional support. “I wanted to break up with my boyfriend, but I can’t tell him clearly, so I want my grandmother to come with me.” This has great “reality TV” written all over it!

What about Jell-O? Two scientists tested a crazy hypothesis: Will yogurt smeared on the windows of a home help it stay cooler? They used a test home and smeared the gooey substance all over they home’s windows. Result? Their experiment was successful! The indoor temperature of the house with yogurt spread on the windows was up to 3.5 degrees cooler than the control home. Scientists said the yogurt stinks for 30 minutes while drying, but the smell dissipates. No word if different flavors caused any difference.
