#1 Cho Cho San Restaurant $$
400 Thousand Oaks Blvd, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360
This is the best sushi in Thousand Oaks and maybe the best in all of Ventura County. I visited this restaurant during happy hour which goes on every day from 2:30 PM to 5 PM. I ordered the Dragon Fly Roll for $10 and Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice for $5.50. This meal was so good and surprisingly filling! What makes Cho Cho San unique is their special ponzu sauce and HUGE menu! I seriously recommend you give this spot a try.
#2 Neptune’s Net $$
42505 Pacific Coast Highway Malibu, California 90265
This gem is located in Malibu right across the beach, with a panoramic ocean view. The vibe here is great, mostly all of the seating is outdoors, and the two times I have been here, I have gotten to see motorcyclists doing wheelies right before my eyes! It was definitely a sight to see. This shrimp basket was $14.50, the service was quick, and it filled me up! Highly recommend Neptune’s Net to anyone that is looking to eat a fresh, seafood lunch with a great view and entertainment.
#3 Rice by Mama $$
419 E Main St. Ventura, CA 93001
WOW. This place is good. I was walking around downtown Ventura when I stumbled along this Thai restaurant. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai ($12.95) and rice. The portions are HUGE! No question, I will definitely be coming back here the next time I’m downtown. Downtown Ventura has 30 + restaurants, unique boutiques, and thrift shops, and is a great opportunity to support local businesses. They even transformed Main Street into a very spacious promenade that is open to the public to walk through and enjoy everything Ventura has to offer.
#4 Gen Korean BBQ House $$
2721 Seaglass Way #3260, Oxnard, CA 93036
All You Can Eat Korean BBQ for $24.99. The meat here is so tender, flavorful, and premium cut. Gen is perfect for birthdays and celebrations with friends and family. When ordering, It’s hard to know what to get since the menu is HUGE, and maybe you have never tried this type of food. That’s why I’m here! I have been to this restaurant 10+ times so it obviously must be good. When you go, order beef and pork bulgogi, Hawaiian pork belly, japchae (noodles), veggies, rice, shrimp, and gyoza to get you started. You can never go wrong with these items, however, don’t just stick to those! Order everything you crave just make sure you finish your plate! The Oxnard location is the best location I have tried thus far!
#5 Toppers Pizza Place $$
2701 Peninsula Rd, Oxnard, CA 93035
This Toppers Pizza Location Is in the heart of the Channel Islands Harbor, which serves amazing food at a dazzling oceanfront location! The Jalapeno Poppers are hands down the best appetizer I have ever had at any Pizza Joint. You can get 6 of these cheesy, bacon jalapeno babies for only 5.25$. Everything else is great as well, such as their salad bar, specialty pizza, and wide selection of beer. However, I would be crazy not to highlight this dish since it is like no other in all of Ventura County! These babies are a must try!
