(Los Angeles, CA) — September 19, 2022— Savion Glover is in a league of his own. He is part philosopher and part poet. With his new piece, SoUNDz’ SaCRoSaNcT, he might also be considered a memoirist, that is, with a memoir in movement.  SoUNDz’ SaCRoSaNcT is not only a psychological portrait of his own life on stage and off but it also pays homage to his friend and mentor Gregory Hines, as well as the other great “hoofers” of the preceding generation.

SoUNDz’ SaCRoSaNcT, Glover said, will have a balance of improvisation and script. As his mentor Gregory Hines’ once said, it will be “improvography” with the goal of sharing the script with the audience and giving the audience closer access to who he is as an artist.

“It’s a ‘one man show’ from Savion Glover honoring his mentors and also exploring the boundaries of self-expression. My duty as an entertainer is to serve. And at this point, I want to be as honest in my existence. I want my performing efforts to speak more to what I am.”
