YouTube, which is owned by Google, is testing a new feature in its mobile app with its premium subscribers that allows them to zoom in on videos.

According to The Verge, the latest opt-in experimental feature allows for a pinch-to-zoom gesture for videos, and it works in both portrait and full-screen landscape mode.
The zoom feature will remain in testing until September 1, according to the company, giving YouTube about a month to gather user feedback and refine things before potentially rolling it out more widely.
Open YouTube’s settings menu, either on your phone or on the website, to enable pinch to zoom. If you have YouTube Premium, you should see a “try new features” section.
Users can now convert longer videos into Shorts by adding a new “Edit into a Short” tool to the platform’s iOS and Android apps.
Users can now convert up to 60 seconds of their existing long-form YouTube videos into Shorts with this new update, which is now available on iOS and Android devices.
YouTube Shorts now has over 1.5 billion signed-in users per month and over 30 billion daily views.
